The Duchess (Early Demo)

In this atmospheric horror demo, you assume the role of a night watchman assigned to secure a historic mansion left untouched since the tragic events of 1937. What begins as a routine task soon spirals into a haunting journey through the mansion’s dark history. As you explore its grand yet decaying halls, you'll discover unsettling notes from the doomed family that once resided here—clues that unveil the Duchess's obsession with the occult following the death of her young daughter.

Each room tells a story, preserved in time yet echoing with whispers of the past. The opulent decor now casts eerie shadows, and the silence is broken only by unexplained sounds that keep you on edge. The deeper you delve, the more you sense a malevolent presence, something stirred by the Duchess’s desperate attempts to reach beyond the grave.

Your mission is to piece together the sinister puzzle woven into the fabric of the mansion while surviving the unseen dangers that lurk within its walls. Will you uncover the truth behind the haunting, or will you become another lost soul trapped in this house frozen in time?

This is a short demo for itch.io, the game will be published on Steam later, with updated Demo and eventualy the full game.

This game is in developement just by one person, me, i currently have no help, not even for playtesting so please post comments to give feedback, bugs, errors, suggestions etc.
